Job Title: Boiler Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Junior Boiler Technician to assist in the operation, inspection, and routine maintenance of boiler systems within a power plant environment. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with foundational knowledge of boiler operations who are eager to gain hands-on experience with steam generation systems and support plant efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Boiler Operation Assistance

Assist in monitoring boiler parameters including pressure, temperature, and feedwater levels.

Support the start-up, operation, and shutdown processes under supervision of senior technicians or operators.

Observe control panel indicators and assist with logging daily operating conditions.
Preventive Maintenance

Perform routine tasks such as cleaning burners, inspecting valves, and checking gauges.

Help conduct visual inspections for leaks, corrosion, or unusual vibrations in boiler components.

Assist in basic servicing of pumps, motors, and auxiliary steam system components.
Support During Outages

Aid in boiler preparation for internal inspections and scheduled shutdowns.

Provide support in removing insulation, opening manways, and preparing tools for maintenance crews.

Help coordinate materials, parts, and consumables for minor repair tasks.
Safety & Compliance

Follow all plant safety protocols including use of PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space procedures.

Assist in maintaining logs and documentation as per internal quality and safety management systems.

Support adherence to environmental and emission control standards.
Learning & Development

Participate in on-the-job training and technical workshops related to boiler systems, water chemistry, and combustion control.

Work closely with senior technicians to gain experience in troubleshooting and repair techniques.

Develop familiarity with boiler codes (e.g., ASME Section I) and plant standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Skills
Education:

Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Boiler Operations, or Power Plant Technology
Certifications (Preferred or Willing to Obtain):

2nd Class or 3rd Class Boiler Operator License (as per local regulations)

OSHA 10/30 or basic industrial safety training
Experience:

0–2 years in boiler operations, power plant, or industrial mechanical systems (internships or apprenticeships acceptable)
