Roles & Responsibilities

The Junior Boiler Maintenance Supervisor supports the day-to-day maintenance, inspection, and repair of boiler systems in industrial, utility, or water treatment facilities. This entry-level supervisory role ensures maintenance tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operating procedures and regulatory standards. The role focuses on coordinating technicians, tracking boiler performance, and assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supervising routine and scheduled maintenance of boilers, burners, feedwater systems, and safety valves.

  • Support troubleshooting and minor repairs of leaks, pressure issues, and burner malfunctions under guidance from senior engineers.

  • Coordinate the daily work of maintenance technicians and ensure safety protocols and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.

  • Monitor operational logs and flag any anomalies related to boiler pressure, temperature, or fuel usage.

  • Help maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.

  • Assist in planning and executing boiler shutdowns and start-ups for cleaning, inspection, or overhauls.

  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and report any malfunctions or deficiencies.

  • Support compliance with local codes, OEM recommendations, and boiler operation standards (e.g., ASME Section I).

  1. Preventive Maintenance Execution

    • Coordinating and ensuring timely completion of scheduled inspections and minor repairs.

  2. Safety and Regulatory Compliance

    • Enforcing basic safety standards and assisting in maintaining compliance with boiler operation codes.

  3. Boiler Equipment Familiarity

    • Developing knowledge of fire-tube, water-tube boilers, feedwater systems, and control instrumentation.

  4. Technical Support and Team Coordination

    • Providing hands-on support to technicians and reporting critical issues to senior maintenance personnel.

  5. Operational Monitoring

    • Learning to analyze basic operating trends to assist in diagnosing early signs of performance decline.


📘 Educational & Skill Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance (preferred).

  • 0–3 years of experience in boiler maintenance or mechanical systems (internships or vocational training is a plus).

  • Basic understanding of steam systems, pumps, valves, and combustion safety.

  • Willingness to learn supervisory responsibilities and support field operations.

  • Good communication skills and attention to safety.
