  • Support boiler repairs, alterations, rerating, and requalification activities in line with NBIC guidance.

4. Risk Mitigation and Safety Assurance

  • Conduct and support risk assessments, pressure relief system evaluations, and system integrity reviews.

  • Ensure safety valve sizing, settings, and blowdown procedures comply with applicable codes.

5. Documentation Control

  • Maintain accurate records for all boiler code-related activities including Form P-1, R-1, and U-1 documentation, inspection reports, repair logs, and compliance certifications.

6. Project Support

  • Provide compliance input on new boiler installations, pressure system modifications, and capital improvement projects.

  • Review fabrication, welding, and test procedures to verify alignment with ASME and NBIC rules.

7. Training and Mentorship

  • Provide training on code requirements and inspection readiness to maintenance and operations staff.

  • Mentor junior engineers or compliance staff on interpretation and application of pressure equipment codes.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. ASME/NBIC Code Application:
Ensure accurate implementation of code requirements during equipment design, fabrication, inspection, repair, and decommissioning.

  2. Inspection Readiness & Execution:
Coordinate, document, and support required internal and third-party inspections for boilers and pressure vessels.

  3. Boiler Integrity Assurance:
Evaluate pressure parts, safety devices, and welding integrity to ensure long-term, safe operation.

  4. Change Control & Repair Compliance:
Review and approve equipment changes and repairs in accordance with R-stamp and National Board standards.

  5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with plant maintenance, engineering, operations, and safety departments to align compliance with operational reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 4–7 years of experience in boiler systems engineering, pressure vessel compliance, or plant utilities.

  • Working knowledge of ASME BPVC (Sections I, IV, VIII) and NBIC codes is essential.

  • Experience coordinating inspections with Authorized Inspectors (AI) and regulatory bodies.

  • Familiarity with CMMS and document control systems.

  • Excellent documentation, code interpretation, and communication skills.

  • Certifications such as API 510, NBIC Inspector, or PE license (mechanical) are a plus.
