We are looking for a skilled and reliable Mid-Level Machining Technician to join our Blade and Disk Machining Team, with specialization in precision grinding and milling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in operating CNC and manual machines to manufacture turbine blades and disks to exacting tolerances. This role involves executing machining operations, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring part compliance with strict quality standards in an aerospace or energy manufacturing environment.
Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and manual grinding and milling machines for turbine blades and disks.
Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and process instructions to produce high-precision parts.
Perform contour grinding, profile milling, and surface finishing to meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, height gauges, CMM, calipers) to inspect and verify part compliance.
Adjust offsets, tooling, and programs to maintain machining accuracy and repeatability.
Conduct in-process inspections and complete documentation per quality control procedures.
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve machining issues and optimize processes.
Maintain machine cleanliness, perform basic maintenance, and monitor tool wear.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Precision Machining of Blades and Disks
Independently carry out grinding and milling operations on aerospace or turbine components with tight tolerances.
CNC Machine Setup and Operation
Load/unload programs, select proper tools, and make on-machine adjustments for optimal performance.
Blueprint Reading & GD&T
Interpret complex technical drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles in machining.
Quality Control & Inspection
Perform dimensional checks and record inspection data using both manual and digital measuring systems.
Process Optimization & Problem Solving
Identify and troubleshoot process deviations and recommend improvements in tooling, feeds, speeds, or fixturing.
Technical diploma or associate degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in a precision machining environment, preferably with turbine or aerospace components.
Strong knowledge of CNC grinding and milling (experience with 3- to 5-axis machines preferred).
Proficient in reading blueprints and working with GD&T symbols and tolerances.
Experience working with hard alloys (Inconel, titanium, stainless steel) and high-precision components.
Familiarity with machine shop safety standards and Lean/5S principles.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to work shifts or overtime based on production demand.
Experience with aerospace or power generation industry components (turbine blades, vanes, disks).
Exposure to CMM or other advanced inspection systems.
Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, or similar) is a plus.
Certifications in machining or quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) are advantageous.
