Job Title: Automotive Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Automotive Mechanic to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of automotive systems and components. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians, you will gain hands-on experience in diagnostics, repairs, and vehicle performance optimization. Key Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

   • Assist in routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
   • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, such as engine performance, suspension, transmission, and brake systems.
   • Help with the disassembly and reassembly of vehicle parts for maintenance or repair.

2. Powertrain and Engine Systems:

   • Support the inspection and repair of powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
   • Assist with diagnosing issues related to engine performance and other mechanical systems.

3. Electrical and Electronic Systems:

   • Help with the maintenance and repair of vehicle electrical systems, including ignition, charging systems, and wiring.
   • Assist in diagnosing issues with vehicle electronics such as lighting, infotainment, and control systems.

4. Vehicle Diagnostics:

   • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with the vehicle’s mechanical and electrical systems.
   • Assist in interpreting diagnostic data and troubleshooting problems using manuals and schematics.

5. Customer and Team Support:

   • Communicate with customers to understand their concerns and explain required maintenance or repairs.
   • Assist senior technicians in ensuring that vehicles are serviced according to safety and performance standards.

6. Safety and Compliance:

   • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
   • Ensure that all repairs and services comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.

7. Learning and Development:

   • Participate in training programs to enhance your knowledge of vehicle systems, repair techniques, and diagnostic methods.
   • Learn how to use advanced diagnostic tools, equipment, and software for vehicle servicing.

8. General Workshop Duties:

   • Assist in keeping the workshop clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
   • Help maintain inventory records of parts and materials used for repairs and services.
   • Support senior technicians in any additional tasks required for vehicle servicing or client support.

Key Focus Areas:

1. Vehicle Dynamics:

   • Support the analysis of vehicle handling, stability, and ride comfort through various testing and diagnostics.
   • Assist in understanding and optimizing vehicle suspension and steering systems for better performance.

2. Powertrain Systems:

   • Help with the diagnosis and repair of powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrains, ensuring they operate efficiently.

3. Structural Engineering:

   • Participate in the testing and repair of vehicle structures, ensuring they meet safety and durability standards.

4. Electronics & Electrical Systems:

   • Assist in diagnosing and repairing electrical components, including vehicle control systems, infotainment, and electrical power distribution systems.

5. Thermal Systems:

   • Help with the maintenance and repair of engine cooling systems, HVAC systems, and other thermal management systems to ensure proper vehicle operation.

6. Manufacturing & Assembly:

   • Assist in vehicle assembly, ensuring that all components are fitted and working as expected.
   • Participate in the optimization of manufacturing processes for improved quality and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Educational Requirements:

   • Diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
   • 1-2 years of experience in automotive maintenance or repair is a plus but not required; fresh graduates with relevant coursework are welcome to apply.

2. Technical Skills:

   • Basic understanding of vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, and powertrain systems.
   • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in vehicle service.
   • Knowledge of vehicle repair processes, including engine, brake, transmission, and suspension systems.

3. Soft Skills:

   • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
   • Good communication skills to work effectively with customers and team members.
   • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in the automotive service field.
   • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in diagnosing mechanical issues.

4. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

   • Any certifications in automotive repair, diagnostics, or electrical systems are a plus.
   • Familiarity with safety standards in vehicle maintenance is advantageous.
