The Automation Line Supervisor – Electrical Test Stations oversees the daily operations of automated electrical testing stations within an assembly line. This role ensures optimal functioning of test equipment, maintains high product quality, enforces safety compliance, and manages technicians/operators working in the automated test area.
Supervise the operation of automated electrical test equipment (ICT, FCT, Hi-Pot, continuity, insulation resistance testers, etc.).
Ensure test sequences, calibration, and fault-detection protocols are executed reliably.
Lead a team of electrical test technicians and operators across shifts.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adequate training on testing procedures and equipment.
Work with process engineers and maintenance teams to minimize test cycle time and increase throughput.
Identify bottlenecks, analyze test failure trends, and implement corrective actions.
Ensure test stations meet required QA/QC standards and regulatory compliance (UL, CE, IEC, etc.).
Maintain accurate test records, logs, and documentation for audits and traceability.
Enforce safety practices around high-voltage or energized testing environments.
Ensure ESD-safe practices and workstations are used during all test phases.
Coordinate with maintenance to ensure test stations are calibrated, serviced, and functioning correctly.
Schedule preventive maintenance to avoid unplanned downtime.
Assist in loading, updating, or debugging test programs (in coordination with test engineers).
Provide feedback for program enhancements based on real-time line observations.
Liaise with quality assurance, production planning, and engineering teams to report defects, production metrics, and improvement ideas.
Communicate effectively during daily standups or escalation procedures.
Use MES or SCADA systems to track KPIs (test yield, first pass rate, downtime, etc.).
Generate reports on line efficiency and test performance for management reviews.
