The Senior Automation Line Supervisor – Electrical Test Stations is responsible for leading the operations, quality, and productivity of electrical testing stations in a high-volume automated or semi-automated production environment. This role oversees a team of technicians, ensures compliance with testing standards, drives continuous improvement, and supports cross-functional coordination with engineering, maintenance, and quality.
Manage and mentor a team of test technicians and junior supervisors.
Allocate manpower, assign tasks, and ensure shift productivity goals are met.
Conduct performance reviews and technical training plans.
Supervise functional, continuity, insulation resistance, and high-voltage testing processes.
Ensure test protocols are executed according to safety and compliance standards (e.g., IEC, UL, ISO).
Troubleshoot complex test failures and coordinate root cause analysis with engineering.
Oversee electrical test interfaces with PLCs, SCADA, and automated test equipment (ATE).
Collaborate with controls and automation engineers to optimize testing sequences and data collection.
Ensure adherence to test specifications, SOPs, and documentation practices.
Lead initiatives to reduce defect rates, improve first-pass yield, and audit compliance with quality standards.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cycle time reduction, and test station reliability improvements.
Implement Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma practices within the electrical test environment.
Analyze test yield data, downtime trends, and KPIs.
Generate detailed shift reports and improvement action plans.
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, and planning teams to ensure seamless line performance.
Support the launch of new products by validating test setups and procedures.
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience:
6+ years in an electrical testing/automation manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership, team management, and conflict-resolution abilities.
In-depth knowledge of electrical testing methods, test equipment, and automation controls.
Familiarity with industry compliance standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, IEC).
Proficiency in test documentation systems, MES, or ERP platforms.
