Roles & Responsibilities

The Mid-Level Automation Line Supervisor – Electrical Test Stations is responsible for leading a section of the automated electrical testing process on the production line. This role includes supervising technicians, ensuring adherence to test protocols, resolving technical issues, and improving test efficiency to meet production goals.


Key Focus Areas:

1. Test Station Supervision

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of automated and semi-automated electrical test stations (e.g., ICT, functional testing, HiPot).

  • Ensure that testing procedures are executed accurately and equipment is functioning properly.

2. Team Coordination

  • Manage 5–10 technicians/operators; assign daily tasks, monitor attendance, and ensure productivity targets are met.

  • Facilitate on-the-job training for new team members in test station operation and troubleshooting.

3. Line Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor test line throughput, yield rates, and downtime; work with engineering teams to resolve bottlenecks or recurring faults.

  • Assist in test program updates and parameter tuning to reduce false failures and improve accuracy.

4. Troubleshooting & Support

  • Provide immediate technical support during test failures or equipment issues.

  • Escalate complex equipment or product failures to engineering and maintenance teams with documented logs.

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all test procedures follow quality standards (ISO, UL, CE) and are properly documented.

  • Maintain proper calibration of test equipment and adherence to ESD and electrical safety protocols.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Use MES or SCADA systems to track test outcomes, downtime events, and shift performance.

  • Prepare daily and weekly reports for review by production and quality managers.

7. Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Maintenance, Engineering) to identify opportunities for process automation or lean practices.

  • Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.

  • Experience:

    • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing/testing environment, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of electrical test equipment and automated systems.

    • Proficient with SCADA/MES data logging tools.

    • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems.

    • Effective leadership, communication, and time management skills.
