The Senior Automation Integration Engineer – Valves with Actuators is a technical authority responsible for leading the design, integration, and optimization of automated valve systems across manufacturing and industrial process applications. This role oversees actuator system selection (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic), advanced signal integration with PLCs/DCS, and ensures robust, compliant automation of valve assemblies for operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. The senior engineer guides cross-disciplinary teams, mentors junior staff, and drives continuous improvement in automation architecture and system standardization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end design, specification, and integration of automated valve systems, including actuator sizing, fail-safe logic, and feedback configuration.
Develop and implement advanced control strategies using digital/analog I/O and fieldbus communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, etc.).
Oversee functional and validation testing for valve actuation cycles, torque performance, stroke time, and signal responsiveness under operating conditions.
Collaborate with design engineering, controls, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration and compliance with industry standards.
Develop automation architecture guidelines, interface specifications, and commissioning plans for complex valve-actuator networks.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting support for actuator faults, signal integrity issues, and control loop behavior during system commissioning or failure analysis.
Manage vendor relationships for actuator/positioner procurement, support component qualification, and ensure consistency in integration practices.
Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in best practices for valve automation, diagnostics, and installation quality.
Key Focus Areas:
Technical leadership in valve-actuator automation and control system integration
Advanced communication protocols and I/O strategies for industrial automation
System architecture development and integration documentation
High-reliability actuator selection and performance testing
Field troubleshooting, commissioning, and root cause analysis
Mentorship, standards development, and vendor coordination
