We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Assembly Technician with a strong background in precision mechanical systems. This role is critical to the assembly, testing, and validation of complex mechanical assemblies used in high-performance equipment or systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead or mentor junior technicians.
Assemble high-precision mechanical systems and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
Perform fine alignment, calibration, and testing of mechanical assemblies.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Utilize hand tools, torque tools, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly and quality issues.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly procedures and ensure compliance with design requirements.
Document assembly steps, test results, and non-conformities in accordance with company quality standards.
Support prototype builds and provide feedback for design improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Precision Assembly: Expertise in assembling complex mechanical systems with micron-level tolerances.
Problem Solving: Strong diagnostic skills to identify root causes of mechanical failures or fit issues.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of precision tools and instruments for assembly and measurement.
Documentation & Reporting: Accurate documentation of build processes and clear communication of issues.
Mentorship: Ability to train and guide junior technicians, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives related to mechanical assembly.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in aerospace, medical devices, or semiconductor industries.
Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments is a plus.
Proficient with GD&T and understanding of mechanical fit/finish standards.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
