The Mid-Level Assembly Line Supervisor – Mechanical Systems is responsible for managing and coordinating daily operations of a mechanical assembly line. This role oversees production schedules, quality control, labor allocation, and adherence to safety and efficiency standards. The supervisor ensures seamless execution of production targets, coaching operators and ensuring continuous improvement in mechanical assembly processes.
Assembly Line Management:
Lead the day-to-day mechanical assembly line operations.
Monitor production output to meet daily and weekly targets.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and coordinate a team of assembly technicians and operators.
Conduct training, shift briefings, and provide hands-on guidance.
Quality Control:
Ensure all mechanical assemblies meet specified engineering standards and tolerances.
Coordinate with the Quality Control team to address non-conformities.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for improving efficiency, ergonomics, and workflow.
Implement lean manufacturing practices, 5S, and standard work instructions.
Inventory & Material Coordination:
Ensure availability of components and tools for smooth workflow.
Work with stores and planning teams to prevent delays due to shortages.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce compliance with safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
Conduct regular safety checks and ensure adherence to operational protocols.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate production reports, downtime logs, and operator performance records.
Provide feedback on process or design issues to engineering and management.

Ability to analyze performance and recommend corrective actions.
Skilled in identifying assembly issues and driving resolution through structured root cause analysis.
Education:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field
Certifications (Preferred):
Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing
Experience:
4–7 years in mechanical assembly or production supervision
Experience in medium to high-volume assembly environments (e.g., automotive, industrial machinery, HVAC, appliances)
