The Junior Assembly Line Supervisor – Mechanical Systems is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of a mechanical assembly line. This role supports the senior supervisor in overseeing assembly activities, ensuring product quality, production efficiency, and adherence to safety and operational procedures. The junior supervisor serves as a frontline leader and liaison between technicians, quality, and production planning teams.
Daily Line Supervision:
Monitor day-to-day mechanical assembly operations on the production line.
Ensure timely execution of scheduled work orders in accordance with production targets.
Team Coordination:
Assist in assigning tasks to assembly technicians and operators.
Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure quality and efficiency.
Quality Assurance Support:
Conduct in-process checks to ensure assemblies meet quality and mechanical standards.
Report and escalate any non-conformities or deviations from specifications.
Tool & Equipment Oversight:
Ensure proper use and care of tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment.
Report tool or equipment malfunctions promptly for maintenance.
Inventory & Materials Handling:
Support materials flow by checking availability of components and tools at workstations.
Communicate material shortages or issues to the planning or inventory team.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce workplace safety standards and PPE compliance on the assembly floor.
Report safety incidents or near-misses immediately to the senior supervisor.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain basic production records, time logs, and first-level troubleshooting data.
Assist in updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) when required.

Understanding of mechanical system components and basic assembly principles.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.

Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced production environment.
Attention to detail for quality and safety enforcement.
Ability to identify basic assembly issues and assist in troubleshooting or escalation.
Education:
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, or related field (required)
B.E./B.Tech (preferred but not required for junior role)
Experience:
1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or production supervision
Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or TPM practices is a plus
