We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Valve Technician to lead the inspection, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of critical valve systems in a power plant environment. This role involves working with a wide range of valve types—manual, control, pressure relief, and motor-operated—under high-pressure, high-temperature conditions. The Senior Valve Technician will also supervise junior technicians, ensure adherence to plant standards, and contribute to safe and efficient maintenance practices during routine operations and major outages.
Lead disassembly, inspection, reconditioning, and reassembly of complex valve systems, including safety relief valves, motor-operated valves (MOVs), and control valves.
Replace internal components and conduct fine adjustments to ensure proper sealing and flow characteristics.
Apply OEM guidelines, ASME/API standards, and plant procedures during servicing.
Perform advanced pressure testing (hydrostatic/pneumatic), seat leakage, and stroke testing.
Troubleshoot valve malfunctions related to pressure loss, leakage, actuator failure, or stem damage.
Calibrate actuators, positioners, and interlock systems for automated valve control.
Lead and guide teams of junior valve technicians during maintenance cycles and shutdowns.
Allocate tasks, verify work quality, and conduct tool-box talks and on-the-job training sessions.
Act as a technical resource for complex valve issues and interface with engineers when required.
Enforce adherence to all LOTO, PPE, and permit-to-work procedures.
Ensure valve servicing complies with regulatory codes (API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
Prepare detailed job reports, test certificates, and failure analysis summaries.
Support planning and execution of valve-related scopes in major outages and turnarounds.
Expert valve diagnostics, overhaul, and calibration
Leadership of junior technicians and shutdown teams
Compliance with high-pressure system safety standards
Field coordination and execution planning
Reporting and documentation for audits and traceability
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or equivalent
Certification in valve servicing or pressure system safety (API, ASME, or OEM-accredited)
Experience:
5–10+ years of hands-on valve maintenance experience in power plants or heavy industrial settings
Proven expertise with control, relief, MOV, and specialty valve systems
Skills:
Proficient in reading P&IDs, valve drawings, and technical manuals
Strong understanding of pressure safety systems, test procedures, and failure modes
Leadership ability and experience in planning and supervising teams
Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
