Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Valve Technician 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician (Mid-Level) to perform disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of industrial valves used in power generation, oil & gas, and process facilities. This role requires practical experience with a variety of valve types and strong mechanical aptitude. The technician will support both workshop and field operations, ensuring all valve-related activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Valve Maintenance & Repair

  • Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble industrial valves including gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, and pressure relief valves.

  • Clean, lap, replace, or machine internal parts such as seats, discs, stems, and seals.

  • Identify common wear and failure modes and recommend repair actions.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing in accordance with applicable standards (API, ASME).

  • Assist in calibration and functional testing of control and relief valves.

  • Document testing results and tag valves for traceability and compliance.

Workshop & Field Support

  • Perform valve servicing in both controlled workshop environments and in-field operational settings.

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, jigs, and test benches.

  • Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and planned maintenance campaigns.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record valve condition, work performed, parts replaced, and test outcomes.

  • Maintain logbooks, checklists, and compliance forms accurately.

  • Communicate findings and issues clearly to supervisors or QA personnel.

  • Field servicing and shutdown maintenance support

  • Safety compliance and accurate reporting

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Technical Diploma or Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Technology, or equivalent

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience working with industrial valves

  • Familiarity with valve codes, testing procedures, and workshop practices

Skills:

  • Ability to use mechanical tools, dial gauges, calipers, torque wrenches, and grinders

  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and service manuals

  • Understanding of safety protocols (LOTO, confined space, PPE)

  • Strong work ethic and teamwork capabilities
