We are looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Apprentice Valve Technician / Helper to support the maintenance and repair of industrial valves in a power plant setting. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals beginning their mechanical career and seeking hands-on experience with valve systems under the supervision of experienced technicians and engineers. You will assist in valve disassembly, cleaning, basic inspection, and reassembly tasks, while learning the fundamentals of valve operation, safety, and maintenance practices.
Support senior valve technicians in the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of valves such as gate, globe, ball, and safety valves.
Assist in cleaning valve parts and preparing tools, gaskets, seals, and replacement components.
Learn to identify basic valve components and understand their function and wear characteristics.
Transport tools, equipment, and valve parts between workshop and worksite.
Help set up and secure work areas, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized workspace during and after valve maintenance tasks.
Follow all safety protocols during valve maintenance operations, including proper lifting, handling, and use of hand tools.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings conducted by supervisors.
Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to the team leader.
Assist in labeling valve components, tagging repaired valves, and recording part usage.
Help with basic documentation tasks such as maintenance checklists or photo logs.
Learn to read simple maintenance instructions and diagrams.

Education:
High School Diploma or Technical Trade Certificate (mechanical preferred)
Enrollment in or recent graduate of mechanical apprenticeship program (desirable)
Experience:
0–1 year of experience in mechanical or industrial environments (internship, workshop, or field exposure is a plus)
