The Senior Mechanical Technician / Engineering Intern serves as a technical expert and leader in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automotive mechanical systems. This role takes ownership of complex mechanical repairs, leads testing and validation activities, and supports engineering design improvements. The senior technician mentors junior and mid-level technicians, collaborates closely with engineering and production teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead complex troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automotive mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, and HVAC components.
Oversee assembly and validation of automotive parts and subsystems to ensure quality and compliance with design specifications.
Manage mechanical testing programs, including test setup, execution, data collection, and analysis.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design changes, improve system performance, and resolve technical issues.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for maintenance procedures, test results, and troubleshooting guides.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Champion workshop safety, tool management, and adherence to industry best practices.
Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on mechanical processes, tools, and reliability enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related discipline
Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in automotive mechanical maintenance, testing, or engineering support
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in mechanical system diagnostics and repair
Experience with testing protocols, data acquisition, and performance analysis
Strong familiarity with automotive assemblies and subsystems
