We are looking for a Junior Apprentice in Mechanical Fabrication to join our workshop and gain hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, and basic manufacturing operations. This entry-level role provides training in mechanical systems, fabrication techniques, tools handling, safety protocols, and quality standards. The apprentice will work closely with experienced fabricators, welders, and engineers to develop skills necessary for a successful career in mechanical and structural fabrication.
Learn and assist in basic fabrication tasks such as cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and fitting of metal parts.
Understand and interpret basic engineering drawings and mechanical assembly instructions.
Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools (e.g., grinders, drills, shears) under supervision.
Receive training on machinery such as press brakes, shearing machines, and band saws.
Follow all workshop safety protocols, PPE requirements, and housekeeping practices.
Participate in safety drills and toolbox talks related to fabrication work.
Assist in measuring and inspecting fabricated parts to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Learn to identify basic material defects and understand quality control fundamentals.
Actively engage in structured training sessions and on-the-job learning assignments.
Maintain a training logbook and report progress to the assigned mentor or supervisor.
Assist senior fabricators and welders in daily tasks and fabrication jobs.
Handle raw materials, prepare workpieces, and perform basic mechanical assembly.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Record attendance, training modules completed, and equipment used.
Show initiative, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
High school diploma (10+2) or ITI / Diploma (Mechanical / Fabrication / Fitter / Welding).
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and workshop tools.
Good manual dexterity and ability to follow instructions.
Interest in pursuing a career in fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly.
Internship or vocational training in a mechanical workshop.
Familiarity with basic fabrication symbols and measurement tools (e.g., vernier calipers, scales).
Positive attitude, attention to detail, and teamwork mindset.
