The Junior Airflow & NVH Testing Supervisor supports the daily operations of airflow and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) testing activities for automotive HVAC and thermal systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and test managers, this role coordinates basic test setups, assists with data collection, and ensures equipment readiness in lab and vehicle environments. The junior supervisor plays a key role in building foundational knowledge of airflow dynamics, NVH principles, and test standards, while contributing to accurate, repeatable results that support product validation and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and executing airflow and NVH tests on HVAC modules, ducting systems, blowers, and cabin components.
Support preparation of test fixtures, microphones, flow sensors, pressure probes, and related instrumentation.
Coordinate test resources, such as lab equipment, test vehicles, or personnel, under supervision.
Monitor and record airflow rates, pressure drops, fan speeds, and NVH signatures during system operation.
Ensure proper functioning of anechoic chambers, airflow tunnels, and vibration isolation setups.
Perform basic analysis of airflow uniformity and noise trends using standard tools and templates.
Follow all lab safety guidelines and contribute to keeping the work area clean, calibrated, and organized.
Maintain detailed test logs and assist in drafting preliminary reports or data summaries.
Key Focus Areas:
Support for HVAC airflow and NVH testing operations
Instrumentation setup and equipment verification
Airflow data collection and fan performance testing
Initial NVH signature monitoring and documentation
Lab coordination and resource scheduling
Safety compliance and test preparation
