We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Air Handling Unit (AHU) Supervisor with mid-level experience to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and compliance of AHU systems. This role is critical to ensuring environmental control in cleanrooms, controlled environments, manufacturing areas, or commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will manage a small team of technicians, maintain system efficiency, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support preventive and breakdown maintenance of AHUs.
Supervise and coordinate the operation and maintenance of AHUs, including filter replacement, coil cleaning, fan motor inspection, and VFD checks.
Monitor and maintain key environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, airflow, and differential pressure, especially in cleanroom or GMP environments.
Ensure execution of the preventive maintenance schedule and troubleshoot breakdowns, coordinating repairs as needed.
Maintain records and documentation, including equipment history, calibration reports, maintenance logs, and SOP compliance reports.
Support cleanroom validation activities such as HEPA filter integrity testing (DOP/PAO), airflow visualization, and system balancing.
Liaise with BMS/BAS (Building Management Systems) operators to monitor alarms, system trends, and performance data.
Enforce compliance with GMP, ISO 14644, and EHS standards, especially for pharmaceutical, food, or electronics facilities.
Train and mentor junior technicians on safety practices, SOPs, and technical operations of HVAC and AHU equipment.
Assist in root cause analysis and CAPA implementation for system deviations or audit observations.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams for audits, validation support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Operational Reliability:
Ensure uninterrupted functioning of AHUs to maintain controlled environment conditions.
Cleanroom & GMP Compliance:
Maintain environmental control in classified areas (ISO 5–8 or Grade A–D) through proper AHU operation.
Preventive Maintenance Execution:
Oversee planned maintenance, ensuring all AHU components function efficiently and within specifications.
System Monitoring & Reporting:
Document system performance and anomalies, and coordinate timely resolution to avoid non-compliance.
Team Supervision & Training:
Lead junior technicians, promote safety culture, and build technical knowledge within the team.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related technical field.
3 to 6 years of relevant experience in AHU supervision or HVAC maintenance.
Hands-on experience with AHU components (filters, dampers, fans, coils, actuators) and system operation.
Knowledge of cleanroom operations and regulatory compliance (ISO 14644, GMP, EHS, etc.).
Ability to read HVAC drawings, technical manuals, and work with BMS/BAS systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in critical environments.
Good written and verbal communication for reporting, documentation, and team coordination.
Certification in HVAC maintenance or cleanroom operations (e.g., ASHRAE, SMRP, CMRP).
Familiarity with LEED, energy efficiency practices, or green building principles.
Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, biotech, or healthcare.
