We are seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to lead the innovation, development, and industrialization of additive manufacturing processes specifically for aerospace components. The role demands a strategic leader who can drive process excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor engineering teams while collaborating closely with cross-functional departments.
Process Innovation & Industrialization:
Lead the development and scale-up of advanced additive manufacturing processes (SLM, DMLS, EBM) to manufacture complex aerospace parts with optimal quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualification & Certification:
Manage and oversee the qualification, validation, and certification of additive manufactured aerospace components, ensuring full compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and FAA regulations.
Material & Process Characterization:
Direct advanced material analysis, mechanical testing, microstructural evaluation, and failure investigations to optimize material performance and process reliability.
Quality Assurance Leadership:
Develop and implement robust quality control measures, lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives within additive manufacturing operations.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and innovation culture within the team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with design, production, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to integrate additive manufacturing seamlessly into the aerospace component manufacturing lifecycle.
Project & Stakeholder Management:
Oversee high-impact projects, manage resources effectively, and communicate progress and risks to senior management and external partners.
Lead the design, development, and optimization of additive manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
Ensure aerospace parts meet mechanical, thermal, and regulatory performance standards through rigorous testing and validation.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives for additive manufacturing technologies.
Manage supplier development and qualification processes related to AM materials and equipment.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Represent the company in industry collaborations and regulatory forums.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of relevant experience in additive manufacturing within aerospace or similarly regulated industries.
Expert knowledge of additive manufacturing processes (SLM, DMLS, EBM, Binder Jetting) and aerospace materials.
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Experience with aerospace quality systems (AS9100, NADCAP) and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in CAD, CAE, and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) software tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.
