We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join our aerospace components team. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and qualifying additive manufacturing processes for critical aerospace parts, ensuring high-quality, reliable production aligned with industry standards.
Develop and optimize additive manufacturing processes (e.g., SLM, DMLS) for aerospace-grade materials.
Conduct validation and qualification of aerospace components produced by additive manufacturing.
Perform material testing, characterization, and failure analysis to improve part performance.
Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to enhance manufacturability and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
Manage documentation and process controls related to additive manufacturing activities.
Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
Support supplier evaluation and qualification related to additive manufacturing.
Stay current with emerging additive manufacturing technologies and best practices.
Process Development & Optimization: Lead initiatives to refine additive manufacturing parameters to improve yield, quality, and efficiency.
Component Testing & Validation: Oversee testing protocols and ensure components meet mechanical and regulatory requirements.
Material Science & Analysis: Analyze material properties and defects to inform process improvements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate additive manufacturing into the production workflow.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in additive manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or related industries.
Strong understanding of additive manufacturing technologies such as SLM, DMLS, or EBM.
Experience with CAD software and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles.
Knowledge of aerospace materials (e.g., titanium alloys, aluminum alloys) and quality standards.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
