The ideal candidate will assist in developing and optimizing additive manufacturing processes to produce high-quality aerospace parts. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in advanced manufacturing technologies and contribute to cutting-edge aerospace solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of additive manufacturing (3D printing) processes for aerospace components.

  • Assist in designing, testing, and validating aerospace parts produced via additive manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize part designs for manufacturability and performance.

  • Help monitor and maintain additive manufacturing equipment, ensuring quality standards are met.

  • Conduct material and process characterization, including testing and data analysis.

  • Document processes, test results, and maintain accurate technical records.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in additive manufacturing technologies and aerospace industry standards.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Additive Manufacturing Process Development:
Assist in the setup, optimization, and troubleshooting of additive manufacturing processes (e.g., SLM, DMLS) for aerospace-grade materials.

  2. Aerospace Component Design & Validation:
Support design reviews and validation activities, ensuring components meet structural, thermal, and performance requirements while being optimized for additive manufacturing.

  3. Material Characterization & Testing:
Conduct tests and analyze results on aerospace materials such as titanium and aluminum alloys, focusing on microstructure, mechanical properties, and defect analysis.

  4. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Aid in maintaining adherence to aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100), perform quality inspections, and ensure process documentation is complete and accurate.

  5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality to continuously improve additive manufacturing processes and part performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of additive manufacturing technologies such as SLM, DMLS, FDM, or others relevant to aerospace applications.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and experience with design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) principles is a plus.

  • Knowledge of aerospace materials (e.g., titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, nickel superalloys) is desirable.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.

Preferred Experience:

  • Internship or project experience in additive manufacturing or aerospace manufacturing.

  • Exposure to quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.

  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing equipment and post-processing techniques.
