We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Valve Compliance Engineer to lead the regulatory compliance and quality assurance efforts for water treatment valve products. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all valves meet or exceed ASME and API standards, overseeing complex inspections, audits, and compliance strategies while mentoring teams and collaborating with senior leadership.
Compliance Leadership & Strategy
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive compliance programs for valve products in accordance with ASME, API, and applicable water treatment standards.
Define compliance policies, best practices, and procedures, driving continuous improvement and ensuring full regulatory adherence.
Act as the primary technical authority on ASME Section VIII, API 600, API 609, and related standards affecting valve design and manufacturing.
Advanced Inspection & Audit Oversight
Oversee complex valve inspections, including coordination of third-party inspectors and certification bodies.
Lead and manage internal and external audits, preparing detailed compliance reports and responding to audit findings effectively.
Review and approve technical documentation, NDE reports, welding procedure qualifications, and material traceability data.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Support
Provide expert guidance to design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams on regulatory requirements and compliance risks.
Lead root cause failure analyses related to compliance issues and drive corrective/preventive actions.
Collaborate with senior management to align compliance strategies with business objectives and risk management.
Mentorship & Team Development
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level compliance engineers, fostering technical expertise and professional growth.
Conduct training sessions on ASME/API standards, inspection protocols, and regulatory updates.
Represent the compliance function in cross-functional committees and leadership meetings.
Senior-level leadership in ASME and API valve compliance
Development and management of comprehensive compliance programs
Oversight of audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions
Mentoring and team leadership for compliance personnel
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant advanced certification is highly desirable
Experience:
8+ years of progressive experience in valve compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory engineering, ideally in water treatment or heavy industrial environments
Extensive expertise in ASME Section VIII, API valve standards, NDE, welding certifications, and pressure equipment regulations
Skills:
Proven leadership and project management abilities
Advanced knowledge of compliance documentation, audit management, and quality systems (ISO, API Q1)
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience liaising with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and clients
