We are looking for an experienced Mid-Level Valve Compliance Engineer to ensure water treatment valves comply with ASME, API, and related industry standards. This role involves managing compliance documentation, coordinating inspections, supporting audits, and liaising with design and manufacturing teams to uphold regulatory and quality standards.
Compliance Management & Documentation
Review and approve valve designs, drawings, and manufacturing documentation for compliance with ASME (Section VIII, B31.1) and API (600, 609, or others) standards.
Manage compliance documentation including material certifications, test reports, NDE results, and quality records.
Maintain and update the compliance tracking system to ensure all valve assets meet required certifications.
Inspection & Audit Coordination
Coordinate and lead valve inspections, both in-house and at supplier/vendor facilities.
Support non-destructive examination (NDE) activities and review inspection reports to verify valve integrity and code compliance.
Participate in internal and external audits, preparing documentation and addressing findings.
Regulatory Interpretation & Implementation
Interpret ASME, API, and water treatment regulatory requirements and provide guidance to design, manufacturing, and procurement teams.
Assist in developing and updating internal valve compliance standards and procedures.
Stay current on industry codes and standards, assessing impact on ongoing projects and operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with mechanical engineers, quality assurance, project managers, and supply chain to ensure compliance requirements are met throughout the valve lifecycle.
Support root cause investigations related to valve compliance or failure issues and recommend corrective actions.
Provide training and mentorship to junior compliance engineers or quality staff.
Ensuring valve design and manufacturing compliance with ASME and API standards
Managing documentation and certification for valve quality assurance
Leading inspections, audits, and regulatory assessments
Collaborating cross-functionally for compliance and continuous improvement
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Certifications related to ASME/API compliance or quality management are a plus
Experience:
3–6 years of experience in valve compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory roles, preferably in water treatment or industrial fluid systems
Strong knowledge of ASME and API valve codes and inspection standards
Skills:
Proficiency in reviewing technical documents, drawings, and inspection reports
Familiarity with NDE methods and welding procedure qualifications
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with compliance tracking tools, document control, and audit processes
