Job Summary
The Mid-Level 5G Network Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge 5G network infrastructure. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of 5G technologies, including radio access networks (RAN), core networks, and transport networks. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement 5G network configurations, focusing on core network components, RAN, and backhaul systems.
- Conduct performance analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting for 5G network components, with an emphasis on coverage, capacity, and quality of service (QoS).
- Perform regular network monitoring to maintain 5G network health, promptly identifying and resolving any performance degradation or outages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and security, to ensure smooth integration and operation of the network.
- Engage in capacity planning and scalability efforts to ensure the network can accommodate future growth and demands.
- Implement 5G RAN planning and optimization tasks, including conducting coverage and interference analysis.
- Develop and implement automation tools aimed at optimizing network performance and facilitating testing processes.
- Maintain and optimize network elements to ensure high availability and reliability across the 5G infrastructure.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Advanced knowledge of 5G architecture, including 5G NR, RAN, core networks, and backhaul systems.
- In-depth understanding of core 5G technologies such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and edge computing.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve network performance issues, including latency, throughput, and jitter.
- Experience with network performance and monitoring tools, such as TEMS, NetScout, Cisco Prime, and Nokia NetAct.
- Proficiency in network protocols, including IP, TCP/IP, SCTP, and Diameter.
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and virtualized network functions.
- Ability to configure and optimize mobile base stations, routers, and switches effectively.
- Strong scripting or automation skills for managing network tasks and enhancing operational efficiency.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), 5G certification, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson) are highly recommended.
