Job Title: Shop Supervisor – Custom Process Equipment

Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Shop Supervisor – Custom Process Equipment manages daily operations within the fabrication shop dedicated to custom process equipment for food and beverage manufacturing. This role leads a team of fabricators and assemblers, ensuring production schedules are met with high quality and safety standards. The supervisor coordinates workflow, enforces compliance with food-grade fabrication protocols, and collaborates with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise fabrication, assembly, and testing activities for custom process equipment in compliance with food-grade standards.

  • Plan and assign work to shop personnel, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely project completion.

  • Monitor quality control processes to ensure equipment meets design specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and promote a culture of workplace safety.

  • Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities for shop staff to enhance skills and productivity.

  • Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance schedules.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve fabrication issues and implement process improvements.

  • Prepare reports on shop performance, production status, and safety metrics for management review.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Technical certification or vocational training in fabrication, mechanical trades, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 4–6 years experience in fabrication and assembly, preferably with custom process equipment or food-grade manufacturing

  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, food-grade standards, and quality assurance

  • Proven leadership and team management skills

  • Solid understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance

  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
