The Junior Shop Supervisor – Custom Process Equipment assists in overseeing day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop focused on custom process equipment used in food and beverage manufacturing. Reporting to senior supervisors, this role helps coordinate shop activities, manage workflow, ensure quality and safety compliance, and support team development. This is an entry-level supervisory role aimed at gaining leadership experience in a specialized fabrication environment.
Assist in supervising shop activities related to fabrication, assembly, and testing of custom process equipment.
Coordinate work schedules and assign tasks to fabrication and assembly technicians.
Monitor quality control to ensure equipment meets design specifications and food-grade standards.
Promote safe work practices and adherence to company safety policies in the shop environment.
Support training and development of shop personnel on fabrication techniques and safety protocols.
Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance schedules.
Communicate effectively with senior supervisors, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical or vocational training in fabrication, mechanical trades, or related field preferred
1-3 years experience in fabrication or assembly, preferably in custom process equipment or food-grade manufacturing
Some exposure to supervisory or lead responsibilities is beneficial
Basic knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes for custom equipment
Familiarity with food-grade fabrication standards preferred
Good communication and team coordination skills
Safety-conscious with attention to detail
Willingness to learn and develop supervisory skills
