We are looking for an experienced Senior Relief Valve Technician to lead and execute complex maintenance, repair, testing, and certification of Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) across shop and field environments. This role involves technical leadership, mentoring of junior staff, and ensuring full compliance with API, ASME, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with PSV systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to safety and quality assurance.
Independently inspect, disassemble, diagnose, and repair all types of pressure relief valves (spring-loaded, pilot-operated, etc.).
Lead testing procedures, including bench and field pop testing, leak testing, and set pressure adjustments.
Ensure strict compliance with API 527, ASME Sections I, IV, and VIII, and manufacturer guidelines.
Supervise and execute valve maintenance and testing activities during plant outages, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
Coordinate site logistics, tool/equipment setup, and safety practices during field service work.
Interface with client engineers and QA/QC inspectors for onsite verifications and handovers.
Approve and review service reports, inspection logs, test certificates, and calibration records.
Ensure traceability and compliance with internal QA procedures and third-party requirements.
Support internal and external audits related to valve maintenance and integrity programs.
Train and mentor junior and mid-level technicians, transferring technical knowledge and safety practices.
Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and skill development sessions.
Provide performance feedback and help build team capability in PSV servicing.
Recommend improvements to testing procedures, tools, and equipment.
Promote a culture of safety and contribute to continuous improvement of shop and field operations.
Ensure adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and PPE protocols.
Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
6+ years of hands-on PSV servicing experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power sectors.
Strong familiarity with industry standards: API 527, API 576, ASME, NBIC, and OEM manuals.
Expertise in PSV testing, calibration, lapping, rebuilding, and component replacement.
Proficient in using hydraulic/pneumatic test benches and precision measuring instruments.
Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, datasheets, and certification documentation.
Leadership abilities and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
High attention to detail, with a focus on quality and compliance.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks during high-pressure projects.
API 510, API 570, or API 576 certified (preferred).
OEM or third-party certifications in PSV servicing.
OSHA, H2S, confined space, and other safety certifications.
