We are seeking a Junior Relief Valve Technician to assist in the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs). This entry-level role is ideal for individuals beginning their careers in mechanical or valve maintenance. The technician will work under the supervision of senior personnel and receive training to develop technical skills and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Assist in the disassembly, inspection, and functional testing of various types of PSVs.
Record valve conditions and testing results in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Support bench testing, pop testing, and seat leakage assessments.
Clean and prepare valves for inspection and reassembly.
Assist in replacing valve components such as springs, seals, and discs as needed.
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
Help maintain accurate records of service activities, test reports, and valve history.
Follow all safety and quality control procedures in line with company and industry standards (e.g., API 527, ASME).
Support compliance with pressure safety regulations and internal audit requirements.
Attend training sessions on valve operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Build knowledge of PSV function, failure modes, and repair techniques.
Seek mentorship and on-the-job guidance from senior technicians and engineers.
Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
0–2 years of hands-on experience with industrial valves or mechanical maintenance (internships or training preferred).
Basic understanding of PSV function and mechanical components.
Familiarity with hand tools, pneumatic tools, and test equipment.
Ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures.
Willingness to learn and follow directions.
Good attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
Team player with strong communication and work ethic.
Entry-level valve maintenance training or certification is an advantage.
Safety training (such as OSHA, H2S, or confined space entry) preferred.
