We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Aerospace Welder to support precision welding operations for pressure vessels and aerospace-grade valves. The ideal candidate will have basic hands-on experience with TIG welding and a keen interest in working within a high-specification, clean-room or aerospace manufacturing environment. This role will involve working under supervision to perform welds that meet stringent quality standards for aerospace components.
Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on aerospace pressure vessels, valve components, and piping assemblies under supervision.
Follow established Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and shop drawings to complete welds to specification.
Assist in setup, fixturing, and post-weld operations (e.g., cleaning, inspection prep).
Ensure cleanliness and adherence to FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control standards in aerospace environments.
Conduct visual inspections of welds and support NDT or dimensional inspections as required.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, following production documentation and traveler sheets.
Comply with safety procedures, clean room protocols, and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, AWS D17.1).
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and training programs to develop welding skills and certifications.
Precision TIG Welding: Develop fine motor skills and control for welding thin-wall and high-spec components.
Pressure Vessel & Valve Welding: Learn to weld components that operate under high pressure and require leak-tight integrity.
Aerospace Welding Standards: Introduction to AWS D17.1, ASME Section IX, and other aerospace/defense standards.
Weld Quality Awareness: Understanding of common weld defects, joint types, and inspection techniques (e.g., visual, dye penetrant).
Documentation & Compliance: Exposure to aerospace traceability and documentation processes.
Cleanroom & FOD Control: Operating in clean or semi-clean environments with strict contamination control.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior welders, engineers, and QA teams to ensure product quality.
High school diploma or technical certification in welding (preferred: Aerospace or TIG welding training).
1–3 years of hands-on welding experience (TIG preferred), or recent graduates with relevant training.
Basic knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safety practices.
Willingness to learn and undergo welding certifications per company and industry standards.
High attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination.
Willingness to learn from senior staff and follow procedures strictly.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliability and consistency in production environments.
